We have a lot more shows coming up, too, inclucing our Oklahoma City debut this Friday, April 6 at VZD’s. Here’s an audio interview I did with Norman, Oklahoma’s KGOU talking about the album and the show.

On Saturday we’re back in Springfield, MO at Lindberg’s, and the weekend after that we’re in Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston.

Also, chances are, if you are a fan of ours, you probably know all about Sun Studio here in Memphis. Did you know they have a syndicated PBS show, The Sun Studio Sessions? We taped a segment a while back (featuring Lucero’s own Rick Steff filling in on keys). It recently started airing in various markets, and if you want to see the whole show (we did 5 or 6 songs for it, plus interviews), you’ll need to follow Sun Studio on Twitter or Facebook to be alerted when it’s going to air in your area. We hope you can join us. Tickets for Chuck’s monthly Duck Room shows sell out almost immediately (I know – I’ve tried to get them before). Their Ticketmaster page is here. I recommend signing up for their email list so you can be notified when tickets go on sale.

We’re also pleased to announce that we’ll be playing the WEVL Spring Concert this year on March 3rd at the Hi-Tone, with none other than Jimbo Mathus and the Tri-State Coalition. We’ve been wanting to do a show with Jimbo for years now,  so this should be a doozy!

There’s a handful of deep south tour dates coming up, too, including a Mardis Gras gig in New Orleans with Jack Oblivan. As always, stay tuned for more.

In the states, there’s the Philadelphia Inquirer, Salad Days Music, Memphis Commercial-Appeal, Memphis Flyer, Big Rock Candy Mountain, and Sangamon Valley Roots Revival. We were also very thrilled to be included in Allmusic’s favorite rock album’s of 2011.

Overseas, we got some love from Spain: Necesito Un Rock And Roll, Río Rojo, and a little indie zine we’d never heard of called Rolling Stone. We were also happy to be included in Elpee Groningen’s list, over in the Netherlands.

The Arkansas Times just ran a rare concert review of our Little Rock show last week, with some high-quality video I’ve posted below. I think it’s safe to say that the White Water Tavern might be the best bar in the United States.

Here comes ’12. Help us ring it in at the Brass Door. This time we’ll be joined by our prodigal organist Al Gamble, for the first time in a blue moon.

In other news, if you’re going to be in Memphis this Saturday, Nov. 5, you can see the local screening of Losers Take All, a film that was shot here last year. I provided a song for the soundtrack, played on the sessions, and coached the actors in the band. Sadly, I will not be able to make the screening, but hey – that’s showbiz for ya. A few months back, the UK site The Black Cab Sessions came to the States to document the music scene in several cities, Memphis being one of them. In case you’re not familiar with the concept of the show, they take an artist for a ride in the back of a London cab and film them singing a song. My performance surfaced recently. Check it out. I’m told there will be more Memphis footage to come, including interviews, so stay tuned.

In all seriousness, Andy there does a great job and plays some killer records. You should download or stream this podcast of the whole show (it’s the one from 09/23/11).
