A 12-year veteran of the Memphis music scene, singer, songwriter, and guitarist John Paul Keith has three critically acclaimed solo albums, including his latest, Memphis Circa 3AM. Most recently, John Paul appears on the new tribute album Red Hot: A Memphis Celebration of Sun Records, with proceeds going to St. Jude. John Paul also contributed a song to the new Don Bryant album from Fat Possum Records, Don’t Give Up on Love.
When not playing guitar on recording sessions at places like Sun Studio, John Paul can be seen performing in one of the Bluff City’s many busy nightspots, or on one of his frequent tours of Europe, or singing timeless country and rockabilly duets with songwriter Amy LaVere as Motel Mirrors.
John Paul is an avid student of Memphis music history, appearing as a frequent contributor on NPR Worldwide’s Beale Street Caravan radio program. He’s also the founder and editor of NewMemphisBeat.com, a blog covering the Memphis recording industry.
John Paul will be releasing his next record, Heart Shaped Shadow, as well as Motel Mirrors’ full-length debut, In the Meantime, on Last Chance Records in early 2018.
